Types of Boat and RV Vacuums and Their Best Features:

Central Vacuums

  • Boat and RV Central Vacuums are recommended as they are compact, light-weight, and easy to use with minimal to no installation required.  These are often the models that come built-in to your RV when you first purchased it.  They will need a power source to run these units; however, they offer the necessary benefit or being easily stored, which is very important.

Handheld Vacuums

  • These are ideal for maneuverability and easy storage.  These units are typically very high-powered with a battery that makes it heavier to carry around.  If you have a lot of hard to reach places to reach, this might be the one for you as they come equipped with several attachments to get the job done.

Steam Vacuums

  • Steam Vacuums are ideal for pet owners as they disinfect and deodorize stains caused by pet accidents on your furniture or in your bathroom.  These models also help to combats mold-related issues, often especially necessary on boats.

Wet and Dry Vacuums

  • These models come equipped with two buckets that separate wet from dry waste, which is convenient for cleaning up wet areas such as sinks and bathrooms.  This model is recommended for boats because of the type of environment; however, RV’s also have their share of wet and dry spots to tackle.

Upright or Canister Vacuums

  • These models are typically larger versions of handheld vacuums; that also come with several attachments to reach those hard to reach places.  These models are suitable for larger RVs and Boats as it covers a larger area with ease; however, because of their size, these models can occupy a lot more space.
