Inside cyclonic power units, a tornado style of movement is created when unclean air is drawn up and forced through the vacuum compartment. Heavy dirt particles fall to the bottom of the container while lighter dust is passed off through the motor and then exhausted outside.

Problems such as motor failure may occur due to overfilling the unit. In cyclonic units, you must empty and clean out the canister more often than other types. You must empty before it gets ¾ full or else the dirt will enter the motor and cause it to burn out. This is a very common problem and is NOT covered under the warranty. All this is noted in the small print of all central vacuum warranties. This is considered abuse and neglect, and therefore not covered.
